As the lead agency in the Fort Worth/Arlington/Tarrant County TX-601 Continuum of Care, HUD has charged TCHC with administrative, financial, and monitoring responsibilities. Our main purpose is to develop a long-term strategic plan and manage a year-round planning effort that addresses the identified needs of homeless individuals and households, the availability and accessibility of existing housing and services, and the opportunities for linkages with mainstream housing and services resources.
TCHC is also responsible for applying for the annual HUD Continuum of Care Grant. The application includes broad community participation, identifying resources and gaps in services, action steps to end homelessness, homeless prevention, and establishing local funding priorities.
As the continuum’s collaborative applicant, TCHC is responsible for program monitoring, evaluation, and reporting to measure the Continuum of Care’s (CoC) progress in meeting local and HUD CoC Program Grant goals and objectives toward ending homelessness. For more information on monitoring and evaluation, see the TX-601 Monitoring and Technical Assistance Handbook.
