Point in Time Count

The Tarrant and Parker County 2021 Point In Time Count is undergoing significant changes in order to ensure the health and safety of everyone involved. Not only do we want to protect people experiencing homelessness from COVID-19, we need to protect the staff and volunteers from similar transmission.
Understandably, we cannot have community volunteer participation this year. We fully appreciate that your agency may have volunteers that look forward to the PIT Count each year and we are disappointed that we cannot accommodate them this year.
Here are the details of the 2021 plan:
- On January 28 – Shelters will report their occupancy numbers and Outreach Teams will survey Lancaster and Downtown.
- The Point In Time Count will then be completed during the following two weeks by Outreach Teams. Thank you Outreach Teams!
- Outreach Teams will be strategically assigned to a different part of the two counties we serve each day until the entire area has been fully canvassed. Duplicate individuals will be removed after the Count is complete. The final results will be available in Spring, 2021.
